Tire Fitment Question

Hello Everyone,

Currently I am running Front 225/45/18
Rear 245/45/18

Question is can I run 225/40's and 245/40's and fix this appearance issue without sacrificing too much.... And by too much I mean drive-ability, and handling? Way to much tire wall.

Appearance, are you concerned about the gap between the tire and fender? The 40 series tires will only increase the gap and have very little effect on how your car handles. The lower the profile tire the harsher the ride...fyi.

Sorry I should have clarified, I meant the amount of tire wall that is showing.... to me it looks like the tire and wheel combo belong on a mini van with that much tire showing.... gap not worried about will lower in a few months, when the time comes for suspension replacement.

With 18" wheels I wouldn't worry about sidewalls size! Want a better looking profile switch to 19" wheels and run 35 series tires. Best option w/b '06 coupe wheels (not expensive) they'll look great on your G. Check our Marketplace under private classified for a set in mint condition that come with tires...not uncommon!

If you want that "low profile" look then you either need a shorter tire or larger wheels. Changing the tire sizes will have an effect on the car but it is too small to be relevant.
