Question Splash Guards Mandatory on Coupe?

I got a call from my ordering dealer today informing me that the '05 Coupe that I ordered back in October came in last night. I had the dealer fax me the invoice and was surprised to find that "SGD Splash Guards" were on it since I did not order/want them. I called the dealer about this and he stated that Infiniti now makes ALL Coupes with splash guards. Can anyone confirm or deny this please?

Thanks,

Wayno-san

The splash guards look better (more aero dynamic) than without...enjoy.

actually, most coupes i've seen do NOT have the splash guards. i don't know what that dealer is smoking but most of the 05's i've seen didn't have them. and my 05 coupe does NOT have them either. typical dealer BS : )

note: you can actually go on the infiniti website and check dealer inventories. if they were truly standard/mandatory, all the new coupes would have them listed as an included option. and a lot do not.

If they are the same ones as what displayed on the Infiniti website here:

http://www.infiniti.com/m/cma/i/acc/...ash_guards.jpg

Then I do NOT think that they look good OR are aerodynamic. But to each his own.

Anyone know if these things are removable?

If it's not too much trouble, could someone with a 05 Coupe w/Splashguards and no aero kit post a photo of their car? Thanks!

That photo is NOT the Coupe's splash guards!

The splash guards are PIO-port installed option. The dealer or yourself can install them too. They are not installed at the factory.

I didnt order a cpe. But the sedan that I ordered has them. Splash guards were not part of my original order. I went today to find out the status of my order and was shown a printout that had it included. car is due with 3days.

I think splash guards take away from the natural lines of the car.....as well as anything else like the aero kit.........the car looks MUCH better nakid! Wayno San is right....too each his own.

My dealer told me the same thing when I placed my order last Sunday. He showed me a document from Infiniti making splash guards mandatory on all 2005 coupes. I didn't want them but I guess I have no choice. I agree with Shooter, I think it has a cleaner look without them. Oh well.

You guys really think the car looks better without them? I think it looks like the car is missing something. My best friend has a G also and he doesnt have them. When our cars are side by side its like night and day.
