Automatic Shifter Shortening
Automatic Shifter Shortening
Has anyone done a mod on the auto shifter it sets way to tall for my taste if it were a 6 speed i would be all about it for the ease of use but it being an automatic is there anything i can do to shorten the stance of the shifter i have heard of using a M45/35 shifter my question on that would be because i own a 2007 M35 i know they "manual" mode is reversed to the "manual" mode on the G i am just wanting some options possibly pics depicting the mod thank you everyone for your time in advance
is there a recommendation on how much to cut also how much of the plastic for the shift button do i have to cut im assuming the same amount of the shaft ?? i just was thinking about it if i do cut it down i dont want to cut to much to where it would not work
With Nissan's AT shifter you can't just whack an foot off the shaft like it was a MT. What I did was cut a little off/reshaped the plastic actuator that runs thru the center of the shaft with my Dremel tool. That way the shifter sits lower and using the right shifter it sits way lower than OE. Check out my garage and see how the KJ Burnt Titanium **** and boot look slightly lowered. Puts a smile on my face every time I slide behind the wheel!
