Subtle exhaust mods
Subtle exhaust mods
Hi guys, I just recently aquired myself an 06 g35 coupe. I'm looking to add an exhaust mod that won't impact the stock sound of the car too much. My first choice was an aftermarket xpipe. My question is, what effect will that have on the sound? It's hard to find a youtube video without the entire exhaust system replaced or without HFC or test pipes.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

As far as I know there is no advantage unless you go to true dual exhaust. And I know my comment sounds ridiculous but I have successfully done light exhaust mods by strategically drilling holes in the muffler. Haha
You can get a better sound on the outside of the car without getting the drone on the inside.
Edit: I have not done this to the G, so it would be strictly experimental, but OEM mufflers on Craigslist are cheap and easy to come by.

Remove the resonater.will get better sound. I just had a custom mid pipe made Minus resonater sounds good! I found a megan oe rs muffler too! Total cost $435. It sounds good deeper and alittle louder. All the woman that have been in my car LOVE the sound!

Fast Intention HFCs work/last better than other brands!
Considering your entire exhaust system, most of the restriction is in your OE cats! Check with your state emission laws, most states allow HFCs (high flow cats) which will give you another 6+ WHP and a better sounding exhaust. There's really nothing else that will give you a better sound and increase whp without buying another system. After market y-pipes aren't worth the $$...!
