what will you do when the seat motors, window motors, and other electrical parts go out? Will they be making compression rod bushings 30 years down the road? Better start stocking up on parts now, lol.

Of course they will. I can still go to autozone and get and alternator for a 69 dodge dart right? (Yes, the answer is yes). Plus these cars were a HUGE hit. Made over a million of em not including Zs. There will be support for a long time to come.

Plus there will always be custom fabricators that will be able to make any part from any material.

I have three kids, two still in car seats, drive a coupe. Did the whole sell my turbo swapped 240SX for a "family" car, pretty much drove one car for family outings anyway, got the car I wanted when it was time to replace.

I'll probably drive the G35 into the ground, it's already over 161K miles, still looks great. I think the electronics will cause these cars to not be worth it to keep around years down the line when they start failing. I picked up another 240SX, currently doing another turbo swap, those cars are SO much easier to work on. Will probably keep the 240 "forever" not the G.

Bro the G/Z is up to be the next "240". I'm just waiting for e92 m3 to get a Lil more cheaper. The interior is going to be a downgrade tho.

The best thing to do with ur G is to keep it clean and decent. That separates you from the kids.

How has it treated you at 161k? Any issues?

I'm NEVER getting rid of my coupe. I already told my son he's not getting it. I get a lot of compliments on my car and for an 05 it's still gorgeous with just over 36,000 miles. I never worry about who has one now or who's going to have one later. I just take care of mine and put only parts that I know will enhance it's looks and performance without being over the top. I thank God each and every day for blessing me with it and now it's my duty to take care of my blessing.

Powertrain wise, nothing, just do oil/fluid changes regularly. Only issues lately seem to be bushings taking a turd: rear diff bushing leaked, compression rod torn, all replaced with Whiteline.

I only complain about electronics because the switch went out on my passenger seat (would recline, but not come back forward) and Infiniti wanted $3,000 for the whole seat bottom and didn't sell the switch separately. Luckily I found someone parting out and got the switch replaced.

$3000 for a cushion? How did it feel to switch to whiteline rear diff bushing? I have to replace mine and everyone says whiteline. The rear of my G feels loose or something with the blown OEM bushing.
