Emblems

Hey, so I have a 2006 G35 Obsidian Black Coupe & I've been wanting to remove the lettering on the trunk but leave the emblem badge on there.. My question is will it look good without the lettering? I've seen coupes with just the emblem badge & it looked sick but I haven't seen it on a obsidian black coupe yet.

You might get some ghosting where the letters were but a nice quick compound will fix the issue!

With the age of our first gen G35s to remove the ghosting will require compound & a high speed buffer that creates heat!

WD40 will remove the residue from the letters but not anything else! Googone is better!

Best badge combo depends on your likes/dislikes, personally I prefer nothing on SLICKS trunk lid. I ran only the Mt. Fuji emblem for a few years but like it better totally clean!

No, I've seen wd40 get rid of the ghost lettering.

Of course, age being a factor now as opposed to when I saw it, you may be right. I'd still give it a shot tho.

The public often asks, "What is it?" The very worst comment/question has been, "Is that the new Ford?" Almost puked before showing this county bumpkin the emblem on my front grille, he still didn't know...Gary

I debadged mine last month and finally removed the mt Fuji this weekend.. I got all the glue sticky adhesive and etc off, but looks like there's an outline/tracing left of the mt Fuji emblem on my trunk.. I tried the goo stuff, but had no luck.. Any suggestions on how to remove that outline/tracing emblem look?

Had you read this entire thread you would have the answer. You could try WD40 like a member suggested, but that won't work! You need a "High Speed Buffer" and light rubbing compound, that's the only way to remove the ghosting!
