Scraping on the front bumper ?
Scraping on the front bumper ?
Hey guys,
Recently Picked up my G35, soon after buying it I took it to my buddy's body shop just to get the front bumper repainted (stone chips)
The car is lowered and has a Greddy Front bumper, coming out of my driveway I scraped the bottom of the front bumper. Now I know if Im super cautious I can avoid this, but Im also worried about making a mistake and f***ing up a new paint job.
Is there anything I can add onto the bumper to stop the scraping ? I was thinking one of those EZ lips, or just something thats not even visible, only on the underneath to help prevent scratching. Its hard/impossible to find an actual lip because of the greddy bumper

Theres a couple photos for those who havent seen the new baby !
Let me know guys
Thanks

Im thinking of putting some adhesive rubber lining on the bottom. Not a bad idea ?

Ive been thinking about just going back to stock ride height, for a few reasons. Less worries for scraping, less wear on tires and less wear on Suspension bits. I have rear camber arms but fronts are expensive so Im not sure

Thats a good idea ! But would the bumper still take damage? I feel like the wrap isn't thick enough or durable enough
Its not thick enough. It would be useful for very very light hits.
Paint, wrap, clear bra.......isn't going to do anything. You could put a lip on there but than it will sit even lower and is still going to get damaged. Either raise the car, get a cup kit, or install a thin piece of metal on the bottom of the bumper if it concerns you that much. Personally, I gave up caring about the paint on that portion years ago because there's times where its impossible not to scrape.

Going to stock suspension from teins though, Im not sure if I'll miss the ride or look?
Sorry Danny, there is no magic fix just awareness on your part!
Hey Danny, I remember you're posting pic of the coupe before you bought it.
Trust me there's is nothing you can do to the bumper to keep it from taking a hit! You must be aware of driveways, speed bumps and those parking lot stops. Take driveways/speed bumps at a 45 degree angle. Learn where the front of your coupe is, doing all this might allow your bumper to survive for 2 years before it will need to be repainted...again!
