Help me: retro wheels on G?

Is it too dorky to put old-style American racing torque thruster type wheels on my G? You know, Mustang Bullit-type, with 5 roundish spokes and dark center with polished rim? Don't laugh! I have friend who owes me and he can get 17x 8 or 9's with 30 or 45 mm of offset for the front and 17 x 10.5's for the rear with 44mm of offset. These are FREE! NEW!
I disregarded at first, but have been coming back to it. I have graphite coupe and saw Mustang with Bullet rims last night. The colors look good together and the the lip is decent.
Am I off the forum with this one? What offsets work with 275/40 (rear) and 245/45 (front) rubber???
Thanks.
Geezer and retro dude

IMO don't do it. I don't think a Nissan/Infiniti would look right with American rims. I'm not sure how to explain it but its like putting AMG wheels on a Japanese car or Volk Racing rims on a BMW. Also, i don't know about putting a "Pep Boys" special on my G35, to me it cheapens the car. But if you like it go for it its you car.

IMO, the G coupe coupe is sleek and has a very modern feel, add those wheels and it will just offset the whole image of the car.

I wouldn't do it, myself. I really don't think it would compliment the look of the car at all.

However, not sure what the offsets are, but the more I see them, the more I'd like to know what the new 350Z rims would look like on the G35 Coupe. I bet that would look SHARP.

Here's how it'd look basically. Didn't bother getting rid of the red corners, but you get the idea. Personally, theres no way in hell you'd catch those things on my G, but its all opinion.

If they are FREE I would definitely do it - but not as something that I would keep on there everyday - I would put some drag radials on there for the strip and use them as my "when I feel like tearing st1t up" wheels...but then again, I am not one to ever pass up a free meal...
