I wouldnt do it, but his work is simply phenomenal. The attention to detail is amazing and respect the guy alot for what he was able to envision and build.

Honestly if I had REAL money to back up the lifestyle that represents, I would consider something crazy like that. I couldn't be going thru Carl's Jr drive-thrus in that thing tho. I guess that's why I find it weird. Kinda repping something that you're not. Obviously that guy can back it up tho.

That's exactly what I'm sayin, bro! Haha

Like if I'm driving that thing I better be able to nightly get take-out in La Jolla. Not saying I'm poor by any means, but that car represents some different level type shib.

Since my previous ride was a '92 Nissan 300ZXTT with those famous t-tops, I like a sunroof way better! Push a button, you've got open sky above your head...t-tops are a PIA!

This is very true. I've always only heard that t-tops are a total pita because of all the weather stripping.

What about a targa top tho? The G kinda has a wanna-be Porsche thing going on with the catamaran front fenders and all. A targa top may be a thing like the Porsche targas of the 70s and 80s. Of course chassis bracing may be an issue. Its probably in an issue with t-tops too tho.

I really just wonder what it would look like (the coupe anyway). Might look pretty awesome.

A t top is a targa top, just slang. Targa Top

It was probably different in the 90s, but I had removabale t tops on my new Jeep and they were cake. I could easily put both on or off in less than 2 minutes. Just 2 sping latches and 3 turn latches and its secured.

Makes sense. Its just one of those things people just don't realize... like how that arrow on the gas gauge next to the tank marker shows which side of the car the tank filler is on.

But did Porsche trademark "TARGA-Top?"

Yes Porsche wasnt the first but they did coin the word Targa and trademarked it on their 911 Targa. Even though it is trademarked, other companies like TVR, Toyota, Ferrari, Honda ect still use the term.

But whenever they call them t tops like on old Firebirds and camaro it always has that center device. The t for targa does make sense tho. Guess its just two different types.

Some have the center bar for rigidity and some dont. Still same basic concept. They were probably called t tops by Pontiac and such to avoid trademark issues.

Regardless of what they call "Removable Tops" they're a PIA to remove/store/reinstall, nothing beats a moon roof like we have in our coupes/sedans! My wife's Vette has a removable top, takes about 15 minutes to remove and reinstall. Driving when the top is off is like being in a wind tunnel so you never want to wear your favorite baseball cap while driving...Gary
