Flex Pipe problem

Hi,
My cars flex pipe with mesh is quite lot damaged due to scraping over the years ..1st the mesh scraped completely off but there were no leaks..recently I noticed exhaust leakage and I taught it was from the headers I replaced by on further inspection the exhaust shop show me about 10 tiny holes under the flex mesh pipe and hot exhaust was leaking from it...my y pipe from nismo with 2.5" out side diameter, the guy told me that the flex pipe will be replaced my question is that will replacing meaning cutting off the old flex pipe and replacing em with new ones?? Or should I ask him to just weld the holes so that there will be no leakage... Will replacing the-flex mesh thingy restrict any performance?

A trans-vaginal mesh or duct tape will fix your problem. No doubt. If i solve any more of your problems I'm going to need a pay pal payment.

That only works if you have deep vein thrombosis.

Ask a simple question and get these kinda answers ^ why? Any quality muffler shop will be able to replace the flex pipe, that's the first place exhaust systems wear out...Gary

Those things wear out quick, I had the same problem and replaced mine with an HR Megan pipe. I think the primary purpose of those flex pipes is to allow some flexibility in the pipe. Auto stores do sell replacement ones that you can clamp on, but none of them fit mine and I thought that would be a cheap fix. But, any decent muffler shop should be able to fix your problem without an issue. I'd have em cut off the old ones and weld new ones into place.
