Auto Up Window Feature Not working !!

Hey guys,

I have a problem with my car that seems to be pretty common here. My window will close just fine if I hold up the switch without using the auto up, but If i try closing it using the automatic feature then the Window will go all the way up, and go back down a few inches. Now I read online that I just need to reset the Window motor, which is what I did.I took off the panel, held the reset button while I opened the window, then closed the window. The problem still persists ! I also cleaned the motor, but that didnt seem to do much.

I found out though, that if I put pressure on the window itself (Pushing it outward) after I press the auto up, it fully goes up and stays there.

Anyone know what I can do ?

Did you follow these steps:

set the limit switch after the regulator and/or motor have been removed for any reason.....here is the procedure as per esm

1. with the door open, lift up and hold the power window switch until the door glass is fully closed.
2. get inside the vehicle and close the door.
- you need to close the door so the door switch is fully depressed
3. press and hold the reset switch. while holding the reset switch, press down and hold the power window switch until the door glass is fully opened.
4. release the reset switch. then, lift up and hold the power window switch until the door glass is fully closed.
5. open the door to release the door switch. the door glass should partially move down.

**do not use the window auto function.
**do not release the switch before the window is fully stopped

Try the reset again but really you need a new motor. Cleaning it doesn't not always yield a fix or even a permanent fix.

heres one thing I learned about my auto up function. u gotta hold for about 1 sec before letting it go. if u let it go too fast itll do that.
