Keyless remote will not program!

first off this is my first posting, so there goes that pop.

Anyway I just purchase my '04 G35 Coupe and can not get the keyless remote to program. I purchase an spare from amazon. I checked all the fuses in the car(2 around the battery and next to the clutch pedal). Replace the batteries in both. Took the remotes to the local auto parts store and they tested good. I have watched the youtube videos and followed every online instructions I can find w/o any luck. With the instructions below I make it to step 3 and after that step 4 I get no response. Please help!

1)Close all doors and lock all doors.
2)Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder more than six times within 10 seconds. The hazard warning lamp will then flash).
3)Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase.
4)Press any button on the new remote controller once. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash).
5)Remove key from ignition.
6)Unlock driver side door, open driver side door and then close the door.

My understanding is that the key has to be reprogrammed to your car by either Infiniti or Nissan. Usually at quite a price.

Remote programming is easy. This youtube video will show you. I bought my remote on amazon for less than $10.

As for the key, you need to go to a locksmith that does auto key programming. It will be ALOT cheaper than dealership. You can get a key for $40 and programmed for $70 more. I bought a key from amazon for about $10 and it worked too. But I didn't want to take the risk so I ended up buying a key from the locksmith also. Altogether, I got 2 keys and they were programmed for about $120. Good luck.
