I ordered a gialla lip and I've gone to over 4 bodyshops in my area and they all quoted me between $300 - $375.
I feel like that is pretty damn exspensive and that's not even including an install.
I was thinking about heading over to a maaco tomorrow to see what they would quote me.
I heard they aren't the best quality but I could really care less because my car is pretty low and it's going to get torn up anyways.
Has anybody gotten a lip painted and how much did it cost you?

Most places don't just paint parts like that. Maaco will charge you for a whole paint job. The only place I've heard of that paints by the part is a friend of a friend of mine who's in a car club and they all work in different automotive fields, but will trade favors like that.

I mean I'm sure there are places that will do it, but I haven't found one. I know this doesn't really help your situation, but just saying its not really a regular thing, so put it on and leave it black, or count on paying some real money.

Yeah those quotes sound about right. If you want to get your lip painted for a low price I suggest looking on craigslist, there should be a handful of guys on there that work at body shops that offer to do work on the side for extra cash. Thats how I get my parts painted for a fraction of what shops quote me. Its not a lip but I got all four splash guards painted Laser Red for $50.

automotive touchup color matched spray paint and clear cloat and some pepboys primer along with some sandpaper, polish and wax. all under $100 beats a maaco paint job I did it myself for the first time on some pieces and worked perfectly. my coupe is OB though black is easy to match.

I searched and found a guy who can do it for $150. Which is a good deal imo.

I also have a buddy who worked in a body shop the whole summer and says he will help me paint it and says it will look pretty good.
He has a paint gun and everything.
Only thing is where should I get the paint?

Average should be $150-200 but some places may charge more depending on the paint and clear they use. A quart of paint averages $50 so a shop might try to make you pay for that if they don't already have your color. A can of clear coat can range from a few hundred to a thousand.

My car is diamond graphite but I did find a place on Craigslist who is quoting me $150 so I'm just gonna take it up.
Now I just need to figure out how to hell I'm going to install this damn gialla lip. The box came with no instructions or hardware for install. >

Test fit it and I'm guessing the lip came with drilled holes right? If so check to see if any holes line up with stock bolts toward the bottom of the bumper. If not then drill your own holes and get hardware from your local hardware store. For the top front and sides I'd suggest using 3M Tape to hold it in place. <----This is just a suggestion I've never installed a lip before but I did install my nismo diffuser this way.

Yea it didn't come with any holes so I gotta do those before the paint job.
Thanks for the help.
