Wiggle room if order my car?

looks like i will have to have my car "built" from scratch and sent from overseas (to me my specs)... should take around 3 months... my understanding is dealers are far less willing to haggle price points with special orders...

why is that? has anyone gotten anywhere with bargaining in these instances?

Yea its all bs on the part of the dealership, trying to get extra cash out of people...If they try to screw you over just tell them that you spoke to another dealership and they offered you better for the same special order, then act like your willing to walk...They'll usually change their price and tone rather quickly...If they don't, then just continue your walk...Theres always other dealerships out there...Grubbs Ininiti is apparently a good place to go through when ordering cars...They've been giving decent prices on cars that need to be put on order...Gluck

This is not the case in my experience. Based on the experience of wnt1bd, we ordered my wife's 05 CPE 6MT on 1/27/05 for just a little over invoice. It is being "built" from scratch just as yours will be and the dealer will make just as much profit as he would have if we'd "selected" one off the lot - and he won't have the expense of interest on the financing to have his investment sitting on the lot waiting for some future buyer to walk in.

I continue to read where folks in my area insist that the local dealers will not negotiate from MSRP and that paying Invoice + plus shipping is a good strategy. Properly approached, your dealer will beat that price and still make a profit.

Good luck to you!

Saltidog and I both ordered our cars for just a little over the factory invoice. YOU SHOULD NOT PAY MSRP. If you are anywhere near Maryland we can get you $500-$700 over invoice.
