Does this car offer more after break-in?

I have an 05 6mt with 750 on the clock and have done 99% of the time the appropiate "break-in" proceedures. As I am on the on ramp to the turnpike when this guy in a TL S-type gets all in my *** so I figured drop in 3rd and merge into the turnpike. He took left lane I got middle and in the 1/4 I would say its a close race but he was pulling on me 1-2mph.

That being said I would say i am a little disapointed and I guess I am hanging my hat on getting a little more after break-in? Has anybody truly noticed that little more after 1200 miles?

TL-S is decent but having driven both i definitely would say the G is faster... did you shift at redline? did you shift fast enough? the TL-S is auto so you should have been able to take him... unless it was modded... no disrespect but maybe its not the car...

ummmm.....I had no problem killing a Mustang GT the other night. Around 11 p.m. and no cars on the road except for this damn yellow GT. Every light he just kep revving me. So I knew at the next light it was a nice straight away and about a mile or so until the next light so I let him have it. By second gear I was a car and a half ahead. He stopped and didn't rev me any more.LOL You should have gotten the TL-S no problem.

Were 03' TL-S not available in 6mt like the CL-S?

It's funny....nobody answered your question. My car DEFINITELY felt faster after about 1500-2000 miles. I wouldn't worry about it.

expect alittle more power at 3-5K. I've even read magazines that noted that the VQ didnt pull as hard as they expected because it was new, and that they prefer to test Nissans with at least 5K.

Thanks mikevle!! Yes I can drive I just got rid of my modded SRT-4 that I was pulling 13 flat on DR's. I am not going into the pee match that goes on with which is better, "its only a neon" (lame) crap. Infiniti seems to build their motors a little tighter then most which is a good thing I just wanted to know.

i'm sure there'll be more pep after 3k miles but you still should have taken that TL-S regardless... AFAIK the tl-s only came in auto... manual TLs only started with the new 2004 model...

I'm currently at 3200 miles and honestly i haven't noticed a difference from the start... although i did baby the car for the first 1000 miles... so i wouldn't know how it felt at WOT back then... maybe you just need an ECU reset?

If the TL-s had headers they can easily run right with a stock 6mt..........though if you read my post here https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-coupe-v35-2003-07/44417-finally-hit-1000mile-mark-gave-some-gas.html I'm kinda wondering the same thing. I think as you learn to drive the car, you can drive it faster, all the TL-s has to do if floor it, no skill involved.

I'm at 13,000 miles with my 2004 coupe, 6MT. It has gotten just slightly quicker (or more powerful) as time has gone on. The few thousand miles definitely had the feel of a stiff/new engine.

My car felt faster after break in too, one thing though... why are you going over 4k rpms on a 750 mile car?

BTW, when break in is done, dont forget to do the ECU reset!

like I said 99% of the time is has been nothing over 4k. I would say I am lucky if its been over 4k 2-3 times and that was just over the last few miles.
