Stock 05 coupe 60k miles.

I have $2k set aside for my first mods..

Thinking about

CAI
Exhaust..

Any other ideas? What is biggest bang for buck for power increase?

Also.. I'm not mechanical.. So have to pay all labor..

 

I personally was kind of satisfied with the power of the car, so the I went for visual mods as my first mods.

If I had to do it again, I'd do it again.
I like to get the most for my money so in this case 2k can buy allot of mods than just exhaust and intake.
For example in this pic I have: Nismo front bumper, M45 wheels, spacers, H-tech springs, plenum spacer and possibly Z tube with stillen intake).

 

plenum spacer and hfc or test pipes will get u some decent power. intake is a no. a nice quality catback exhaust will also help to open up some more power.

 

Consider this, you buy a body kit and have it painted and installed. It would look fugly with OE wheels! So I suggest you check our Marketplace under private classified and find some high end wheels used to start. Great wheels cost a K$ each so you should be able to find a set for $2K. Caution, be careful with sizes and offsets...nothing extreme! No 11" wide rims or zero offsets. Mid to low 20 offsets and 9" front and 10" rear will work perfectly.

Save the remaining grand or so for wheels. Or 06-07 headlights

 

Mrev2 + spacer + lightweight pulleys and idler delete + exhaust + hfcs then tune.That should be right at 2k and will be the easiest hp mods

Our cars are fast and sound good as is. The best first mods to do is definitely appearance In my opinion.
I personally am sticking to appearance mods only because I can't really afford to do both visual and performance.
I got some coilovers, rims, painted lip, tints etc. and I get complimented all the time and my car still holds its value.

Suspension and wheels will make the largest visual difference. Performance can wait, but if you really want some extra oomph you can buy a plenum spacer and maybe a catback or axleback exhaust.

The factory exhaust sounds sexy as it is. my female roomate loves the purr the G makes

Rims and springs would be a good first mod, then a front lip or aftermarket bumper if you have $ remaining.

 

I have a 05 coupe 6MT RevUp with only a cold air intake. I have heard that a plenum spacer would not be an effective choice to open up the breathing for me, so I had thought of going with http://www.kinetixracing.com/kinetix..._manifold.aspx. Or I guess the question is what can I do to maximize air flow into the motor, with out going to boost. A Stillen cat back exhaust is to follow once intake is taken care of.

 

Buy the 5/16 spacer and the mrev2.
