what stick shift vibration?!?!?

i was just wondering about all the complaints about the stick shift vibration. i just took possession of an 05 6mt coupe and cannot understand what all the hooplah was about. unless they changed the 05's because of customer complaints, i don't think the vibration is excessive AT ALL. besides the 03 5at coupe i owned prior, all my cars have been stick shifts. comparing it to the trucks/suv's i've driven, the vibration is minimal. does anyone know if the vibration issue was addresses/fixed in the 05's?

It should still be the same for the 05's...I would think it would be the same because its really not seen as a problem...People can correct me if I'm wrong but the cause of the vibration in the shifter is because of the drive by wire system that we have in our G's...For me, I love the feel of it...

Mine does the same thing, '04 6MT. I only seem to really notice it in 3rd or 4th.

OK, you're wrong!

The drive by wire system only electronically controls the throttle plate instead of using a conventional throttle cable linkage. That has no effect on any driveline vibration, or any vibration of any kind.

The shifter vibration in our G's is caused by poor shifter and/or transmission vibration isolation. Its really nothing more complicated than that.

Personally, I find it kind of annoying. Under full throttle high RPM conditions, my shifter vibrates so much it will make my hand numb!

i believe they fixed something about the shifter. there should be less vibration, and shifting should be lighter in the 05s.

Exclamation Shifter vibe

One of the changes they made for the 2005 6mt is "reduced shift effort".
So that means they did SOMETHING to the shifter. This could be a reason
why you feel less vibration, it may have been reduced along with the
shift effort.

In my '04, vibration is readily apparent. Especially when I rev it up, by
5000 rpm, the shifter is slapping my hand violently.

first off, why is your hand even on the shifter during high speeds unless you're shifting gears. also, do ppl really expect no vibration whatsoever? i guess i'm too "easy-going" when it comes to my expectations/complaints of the car.
