probably the ppl who'll say the shifter on our 03-04 Gs vibrates a lot are ppl who have lots of experience on different MT cars. these include me, so yeah, the G's shifter vibrates more than most of other MT cars i've driven, w/ exception of some V8s.

i've driven many manual cars (from 4 cyls, v6's, and v8's) and have owned many manual cars. i just don't find the "vibration" abnormally excessive. actually, i honestly think my sister's miata had more vibration in the shifter....and that's a 4 cyl.

The Department of Transportation sought the help of Nissan in an unprecedented analysis of driver behavior and public safety. DOT has discovered an alarming rise of traffic accidents due to drivers having only one hand on the steering wheel. The result from their analysis was to create a conditioned response by engineering a vibrating shifter so annoying that it causes the driver to place both hands on the steering wheel instead of one. Although still in the test phase, the full report will be published in Automobile, SUV, and Semi weekly.

I see their point though I am not complaining. My RSXS has no vibration whatsoever through the shifter.

Not high speeds, high ENGINE speeds. I can shift much faster with my hand already on the shifter, especially for the 1st to 2nd shift since it'll hit redline in 1st in about 2 seconds.

I'm not expecting no vibration. Just much less vibration. I've owned 5 other manual transmission cars, and NONE of them had even half as much vibration in the shifter as my G does. That's including a 1970 Corvette with a 454 cubic inch big block V-8, with over twice the displacement as the VQ35, and was built 35 years ago.

So I don't think I'm being unreasonable in asking for less vibration from the G's shifter.
