Performance Mods.. good or...?

Hello I'm brand new to the forum as well as owning a 06 Infiniti g35 coupe 5AT (out of choice) and I'm looking to put some mods on it. I have what I'm looking for should be bought in a month or two just wanted some feedback on the set-up.

Borla Catback Exhaust
Motordyne 5/16 Spacer
Fast Intensions HFC
SxExCx Grouding kit
Injen Intake

Let me know if anyone has this set-up or if there were other mods that will go good with this set-up. I'm looking for the stock exhaust sound just a little louder and more Brolic.

Everything will make power but the Intake, the mods are the best bag for the buck you can get. but with the exhaust you *will* need a tune to avoid running lean. I'd budget in a trip to your local Orsis tuner.

As personal feedback, do not bump your redline. the non-hr blocks have MASSIVE power drop off after 6300ish rpm. keep the redline, or even consider dropping it 100rpm if your planning on track days to keep the slower ECU from overrunning the redline like my sedan does almost all the time.

also, you need to run a oil consumption test... (IE does it eat 1/2 quart every two weeks.) if it does keep bottle of oil in the brake master cylinder area... and get a oil catch can to keep you plugs from fouling.

another personal note, since were getting close to the block, replace the plugs with +1 colder plugs. helps fight pre-ignition.

Lastly. *NEVER EVER* run a oil thicker on a oem block. *ESPECIALLY* 'engine restore'... it contains IRON which $%^&'s the living **** out of the cam sensors, and clogs the little ittbi-bitty oil channels in the oem second gen blocks.

Borla Catback Exhaust Great sound (but drone) no HP gain without the next two AND a tune
Motordyne 5/16 Spacer 3-5 HP gain
Fast Intensions HFC 3-5 Hp gain
SxExCx Grouding kit IMHO, waste of money
Injen Intake waste of money unless you like the noise

BTW, you can gain even more with a tune AFTER mods.

Any recommendations on where to get that checked. To be honest I'm not a car savy person, I just love the g. I'm in Levittown Long Island if anyone knows a guy that can help me ? I literally need baby steps :/

Very similar upgrade path for me as well.
I was also thinking of grabbing an aluminum driveshaft on top of what you had laid out. Then from that point it seems like there isnt much unless if you want to force smaller things like lightweight pulleys, or an engine damper.

3.7 or 4.x rear end.. kills the mpg a bit.. but acceleration bumps.

Borla Catback Exhaust Poor quality and sound not worth the $$
Motordyne 5/16 Spacer This has always been best bang for your $$
Fast Intensions HFC Best way to free up WHP
SxExCx Grouding kit Makes ATs shift better, no other value
Injen Intake Better intake is Stillen's CAI/Z-Tube combo and won't suffer from heat soak causing loss of WHP
Let me know if anyone has this set-up or if there were other mods that will go good with this set-up. I'm looking for the stock exhaust sound just a little louder and more Brolic.
Search "Best Exhaust" for opinions on exhaust systems...Gary

Borla Catback Exhaust Not a fan of this exhaust. Look into Fast Intention or Motordyne.
Motordyne 5/16 SpacerTruly the best bang for your buck
Fast Intensions HFC This will give you a lot of power. I did a before and after dyno and i gain 16RWHP on the V36.
SxExCx Grouding kitthis will be good for better grounding of the engine and you will shift a little bit quicker then OEM
Injen Intake Garbage. don't waist your money on this. OEM is proven better.
If your looking into power, i've always been a fan of freeing up HP by changing out the pulley and your driveshaft.
