Updating center console of '03 G35 Coupe.
Just bought the current center console replacement part for my '03 center console. I wanted the leather arm rest of the current version, plus I think it's a better design. My Infiniti dealer has never done this and wasn't sure if it will fit. Has anyone upgraded theirs and were there any problems or headache I need to know before I start spending money? Appreciate any feedback. Got the new console from everything G35.com, great site for parts.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks WhiteonWheat for the perfect reference with a step-by-step guide how to do it. I want to see the looks on the Infiniti service guys faces when I bring it in installed....who thought it couldn't be done....oh yee of little faith.
Now if only they could make a brushed aluminum or wood replacement for the 03 and 04 Coupes. I am not talking about the stick on but an actual replacement! What I would'nt do for that one to replace the cheap looking plastic.

Newer console is so ricey IMO...
j/k - Just replaced mine about 9 months ago and haven't regretted it yet. Be careful with the heated seat switches. And this upgrade isn't for auto's at all. 5AT coupes have always come with a leather armrest. Now if only our 6MT's could get that handy power port in our console...

I did mine about 3 years ago. Piece of cake. However, there's one important step that DIY leaves out. When you are removing the shift ****, which is tough to unscrew BTW, you must hold the shift rod, under the console so it's not movable. You can do this with a vise grip. This step is important, because if the shift rod get twisted, it can bend the linkage. Other than that, the instructions are correct.
