I have been spending about $145-$155 per tire for replacements on my G. That's just to buy the tire online with shipping and doesn't include installation and stems/balancing. The thing to realize is that our cars eat tires pretty quick. Tires are initially a bit more expensive than other car tires, but they also generally need to be replaced every 12-25K miles or sooner if you're an aggressive driver.

Window motors die often and need to be replaced. Fuel economy isn't terrible but it's not good either, and goes down faster with a heavy foot than a comparable driving styles would on some other cars such as a 4-cyl accord, Civic, Corolla, Camry, Sentra, Altima, etc.

There are 4 oxygen sensors to worry about potentially replacing since it's a V6, as well as two sets of cats... not cheap should you ever have to change them.

This car is also a PITA to work on because it's low and has an annoying under-engine cover that is held on by a ton of screws. Oil changes usually take a while for this reason and if you care about your car you won't bring it to some cheap place like WalMart or PepBoys to have the monkeys work on it for a bargain.

Probably gonna do some exhaust stuff too, but what's breaking? I'm on my 5th year now with this car. Nothing broke on my Z while I owned it.

I mean, we can't compare it to a Honda. They make fwd economical cars. Our cars are neither. An S2K is the closest they get so I don't understand why we keep making that comparison.

Also, I 100% guarantee I buy more tires than you guys (cuz...I drive with a bunch of camber and I drift), but what tires are you buying that are more than 200bux a tire, and how long are they lasting? I'm legitimately curious because that seems high for 18 and 19 inch wheels.
You better be right! I just sold my '03 e39 because it cost me $6k over the last 12 months just to keep it running.

I've spent a few K on the new G ('06 Coupe), but it's been go-fast parts and not replacing broken stuff. If you're going to spend money, the latter feels much better than the former

The other guys are right concerning the tires, though. I spent around $800 last year for new Hankook performance tires for the e39 (17"). $800 for wider 19" wheels is getting off easy, IMO.
