cel code p0462 cleaning sending units diy or more serious problem

My check engine light came on today code p0462. Researched that it's most likely the fuel sending unit. I know one person that had the same problem and infiniti charged him $500 to replace the units and fuel pump. Anybody have similar issue & know if it's ok for me to drive the car for a while like this? It's a 07 g35 coupe and is driving normally.

I'm wondering the same thing -- when you have the P0462 code, is replacing the fuel sending units something that can wait until it's convenient to fix or should they be replaced urgently (i.e., will it eventually lead to being broken down on the side of the highway)? Thanks

I haven't had any problems with mine I just clean them whenever the light comes on its came on maybe about 4 times. Just make sure you know how often to get gas because your gauge isn't reliable at this point; I set my trip everytime I get gas and fill up every 250-300 miles.
