G35 vs. IS300 -- impressions?

anyone driven/owned both? i'd be curious to hear feedback from those as to why they decided on one over the other...

equally outfitted the cost is not that different... granted, if you strictly just want two doors, then the G-coupe is the obvious answer... i think the lexus has better interior quality and "finish" and the mark levinson audio ($2400 option) is staggering... but the Coupe has more power and, IMO, looks better from the outside...

i entertained thoughts of buying the lexus and even visited the dealer last week before going with the G-coupe (which i pick up tomorrow ...)

Wow that middle link is old! Ive had my G for like a year and a half now. If you have a choice between a G and an IS300, no doubt about it the G is far superior. I could sit here for an hour and write you an essay about my opinions if you really wanted to hear it. but in on sentence, Get a 2dr G, you won't be making a mistake.

I have owned both in the past six months. Some morron stoled my IS300 out of my driveway in the middle of the night. It was a blessing, after driving the Lexus a month or so I was wising I would have bought the G. I love my G35C much better. Handles 110% better than the Lexus, and the POWER oh my god I lOVE IT

An Is300 is played in my opinion. Everything about the G is great. Good thing you went with the G.

they are both great...but if you like to do some mod yourself..you probably want some more money in your pocket hence the cheaper is300

I have owned both cars. I needed something practical and I didn't go back to IS300 after test driving G35C... Even the sedan is a better car than IS300. IS300 is a fun and comfortable car but it is lacking in both luxury and performance department compared to G35. Unless you plan to turbo it, G35 is a better choice, IMO.

But if you plan to turbo it, IS300's can make serious power without too much work or money. Gotta love the 2JZ engine...

IS300 also looks/feels alot smaller. More along the lines of a 3 series wrt size.
