Nope. My early 03 is still strong.
You need to buy you a trickle charger like the Battery Tender if you are going to let if sit for weeks at a time.

This sounds unusual. Unless the car has been very cold, and was very cold when you tried to start it, the battery should have been good after a month of "rest." It is possible you have a defective replacement, but I'd look for a device that is draining the battery while the car is off. I guess the other possibilty is that the charging system isn't working so it never replenishes, but then a dash light ought to come on. Maybe the squirrels were listening to your sound system while you were away!

Good luck-let us know.

Could be the amp, especially if you run it much with the engine off, or if it uses juice faster than the alternator can restore it.

Could be a slow leak such as a light left on for example in the trunk.

Have a static test done on the system to determine this. If all is well, then you need a heavier duty battery like an Optima.

question... the dealer told me that leaving the assheaters on when the car is off drains the battery.. i dont see how thats possible since the seats dont heat up with the car off. is this another dealer myth or does the battery actually drain?

"the dealer told me that leaving the assheaters on when the car is off drains the battery.."

I can't see how that could be true. Mine are always on in the winter and
1) my seat is cold when I sit down in the morning!
2) my battery is not dead.

BTW, when Infiniti replaced my I30 battery when it died after about 2 1/2 years, the replacement lasted about 3 1/2 years. It was a weird story-I stopped by the dealer on a winter Saturday afternoon to say hello and look at cars and then went to my office for a few hours of paperwork. When I left, the car barely turned over. After it caught, I called the dealer to see if they could replace the battery then, and of course service isn't open on Sat. I asked if I could bring the car up so they could change it on Monday and could they give me a loaner until then. My salesman said sure, and an Infiniti loaner was waiting. Most brands would not go out of the way for you.

Make sure you add water to the batteries once a month or so, especially in warmer climate. I check mine about once every two weeks, and there always about 1/4 low.

I let my car hiberante during the winter and the last time I checked/charged the battery after letting her sit for 3 weeks, the charger indicated that the battery lost very little power...so it should last a good 6-7 weeks even garaged in 34F.
