Id disagree with you friend. Bang for buck, G35 is good but no where near best.

Best would have to be a VW Phaeton. Basically a rebadged Bentley. (Same platform as Bentley but with Audi A8 engine/trans), Tons of features. Plus AWD, air ride and V8 (W12 if you find a rare one). All can be had for 6-8k now.

Best bang for buck performance would have to be a vette. You can find a modded C5 Z06 for 18k easiliy (intake, exhaust, cams, heads, ect) making around 425-450whp NA,

What does it cost to own one of those. That sounds pretty awesome by the specs.

Sorry to disappoint you a little bit.

The G35 is a great car, but it can also be costly to maintain if it wasn't taken care of by the previous owner.

I love BMW's myself and before I bought my 05 Coupe, the other car I was looking at was an 05 BMW328i. About similar specs to the g35 but the 328 was the 4door 5spd. I ended up with the G35 coupe based on the looks and performance numbers, but I think they are about on par with maintenance/ownership costs.

Good luck in your search.

Not much at all actually. Very reliable and lower than average cost of ownership. The W12 can be pricey, but the regular V8 is not bad at all.

I joined a 3 series gorup on facebook when i was tempted by one for sale. All those Mfs post is issues. Also seen the car back for sale in a different place. Would not buy a BMW. You may end up spending oney fixing stuff like someone mentioned above. ALSO they throw some kind of fit at ANYTHING you try to do to them. **** goes off when you use the incorrect bulb(say you want to add some rice with LEDs) or if it goes out.

Even my Jeep Wrangler uses a canbus system. It throws a code if a bulb burns out or isnt the correct resistance value (ie LED). It is pretty common.

That's pretty common with a lot of cars these days.
