Should Nissan provide Auto. Trans fluid free?

Just wanted to put this out there,I figured someone would know.

OK, if you own a G with the auto trans, it is very specific that the trans fluid has to be the Nissan fluid. Anything else would result in harm, and I would guess void the warrenty.

So, I remember reading somewhere, that if a manufacture required a specific part to maintain the warrenty, it had to be provided at no cost.

Don't know for sure, probably been discussed before, just putting it out there

I see the logic there but I would never count on Nissan giving away the stuff when they can make so much money
They are monopolizing on it; everyones forced into purchasing it (and god damn is it expensive)

I think you are correct in that the manufacturer must provide specific parts to maintain the warrenty however, on my 05 there is no specified requirement to replace the AT fluid unless you are towing, cartop carrier, dusty conditions under the schedule 1 or 2. Which I would guess to mean that unless one meets the above conditions the AT fluid does not "require" changing. Ergo, no free AT fluid from Infiniti.

I see your point.
But what about anytime it needs to be topped off?

Again, just thinking out loud.

Well the only time I think that AT needs to be topped off is a leak, and that should be covered by warranty.

Should they yes.. Will they? NEVER!!! If you drive in MM you should have it changed more frequently. I remember I ran something over in my Audi once and busted the pan, my AT fluid was black and as thin as water. The mechanic that fixed my car was like you must downshift a lot. Just fyi. Plan on having my AT fluid changed soon.
