HFC Questions

Alright, so i've tried searching for an answer already, but could not find one. I have an 06 G35 coupe and wanting to get a pair of HFC. Will the HFC throw a CEL? I know some HFC come with o2 sims such as the Berks. I also heard that newer g35s are more sensitive and will trip a CEL, does that include my year (06) or is that just the 07 coupes?

Thank you guys!

its hit and miss with each individual company. the best bet is to buy a set of hfc with the o2 extensions on them so they do not throw a cel. but if you are going so far as that. you might as well just do test pipes or resonated test pipes. not throwing a cel is only half the battle if you have emissions. sniffer test will catch it.

The giant is right, especially if you live in Cali. Smog wouldn't pass me with a Wolf pop charger intake because there wasn't a carb sticker on my FILTER. Laws have gotten much more strict.

HFC may or may not throw a CEL, but from my experience they do more often than not. I would recommend getting it tuned afterwards to make sure its running properly and maximize the gains. If you have a CEL you can just have it disabled in the tune.. and if you have to pass smog just hang onto your OEM cats and swap them back in before the test.

Not a rumor, Berks HFC's suck along with rattle!

Stillen, Fast Intentions and the lowly Berks HFC's all come with extensions so you won't have issues with your oxygen sensors! I ran Berks for 6 months and they started rattling at idle so I called a company, rep and they told me it wasn't possible. A few months later it got worse so I called them again only to find out my warranty had run out. (one year) The rep told me I was SOL, nice huh? Installed FI and after over 2 years no issues, stay the hell away from Berks and their crap company along with anyone that sells them!

My AAM HFC never threw a CEL for 2 years until right after I got it dyno tuned. Took it right back to the shop that did the tune and they disabled the codes.
