New Brake Pads

Greetings,

I'm in need of new break pads on my 2006 G35 Coupe. It does not currently have Brembo brakes. What do you guys recommend for replacing the pads with? The car is just used as a daily driver, nothing extreme.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Does anyone happen to have the part number for the OEM pads that go on this specific car?

Also, the Hawks HPS will fit on the non-Brembo brakes for this car?

Also, I'm not sure which pair of Hawk HPS's to put on the front. The website offers two different ones for the front, but they are different sizes (odd). Is one for the Brembos and one for non-Brembo calipers?

Here are the two Hawk HPS that Hawk says will fit on my front.

Thanks for your help!

+1 OEM. They bite well, are quiet, and perform well in wet weather.

That's weird, I called a local Infiniti and Nissan dealer and asked them what pads they use for my year/model car and they both said they use D1060-1NC0C.

When I searched this OEM number, it did not list it for my year or model car . . . .

Nothing they're both the same I guess. The official Infiniti Parts site uses the part number I posted but dealership sites like infinitipartsusa use the one you gave.

That P/N doesn't look right.

These are probably the only two members that haven't wanted to upgrade their brakes! OEM brakes do everything they posted plus leaving an inch of brake dust on your wheels by just going around the block! HAWK HPS pads do the very same job with the exception of all that fugly dust! You do need to do the "Bed In Process" (search) when installing them for 30% better stopping ability...Gary

Gary,

I appreciate your post. Since you have a bit of experience with the Hawk HPS brake pads, would you be able to provide some insight as to why there are two different kinds of Hawk pads for my make/model car (as I detailed above)?

The 05+ OEM pads do not dust like the 03-04 versions do.

I'm not a Hawk brake pad fan. I'll stick to the OEM pads.

OEM pads last 10K miles on SLICK while my HAWKS have always lasted 30+K miles!

Actually bmars06, there are 3 different types of Hawk pads for our first gen G35s. Check out www.thetirerack.com, they show all 3 and how they are rated/compaired. If you decide on the Hawk HPS pads get them from the vendors on our Marketplace for the best price...Gary
