Newbie: Need tips for Rims

Howdy, I just bought my 04 G35 Coupe about a week ago and the rims that came with it are atrocious. I plan on getting something simple and not too expensive. (quick found rough example will be linked at the bottom) and I want to also add spacers for a better look.

I am very new to this and was wodnering if anyone could help me with specifications and such when looking for new rims. Size of rims, what would be needed for spacers, tire sizes that go along with it etc etc. I am very exited to get my car looking nice. As of now its all stock dark gray 04 coupe with the largest stock spoiler, cheap rims from previous owner, and limo tinted windows. '

Any help is appreciatted! I've been studying and researching but can not figure it out for the lfie of me.

No.

Why waste your money going from cheap rims to cheap rims? Cast Chinese rims are garbage and frankly they are an affront to the modding community.

Wheels are not only about appearance, they are also one of the most important safety features on a car. The quality and construction of the wheel would be just as important as the looks.

If you cannot afford to buy new quality wheels (Work, DPE, Volk, HRE, CCW, ect), then search the marketplace here and on my350z.com for a used set. Used forged wheels only cost slightly more than new garbage cast wheels. Plus 2 years when you go to sell them, they will be worth almost exactly what you paid for them.

Although I appreciate your concern and honestly helpful response. My question was geared more towards what exactly am I looking for. The wheel I tagged was merely for appearance purposes. I am not going to buy those.

I need to know specifications as I do not know what I am looking for. 18 inch, 19 inch, tire size, low profile or not, all the little specs and numbers that come with it as I know close to nothing. Spacer additions are also a completely new concept to me.

I have a Silver 04 coupe and got my wheels from Carid. My fronts are 19X8.5 +32 offset, with 245/40/19's. Rears are 19X10 +20 offset, with 275/35/19's. I looked at a lot of wheels for a long time and basically bought what I could afford plus 25%. I would try and stay away from spacers though. Get the right wheels and fit and spacers are simply not necessary. I settled on 19's and went as wide as Carid would consider a "guaranteed fit". Have to admit, I was a little apprehensive about writing that check, knowing that if the tires rub, I was gonna be pissed. Darned if they weren't a great fit and no signs of rubbing and no need to roll the fenders. It's ok to be a little picky too, when you're spending that kind of money. Hope this helps. Good luck and have fun with your new ride!

Best Advice and it won't empty your wallet!

G35_Hockey, check out the OE '06 coupe wheels as an upgrade for your '04 coupe. They're 19" and light weight, plus look'in great! Follow our Marketplace under Private Classified 19" wheels. We've seen members polish or powder coat them for a custom look. Some of them sell on our Marketplace with tires but I suggest you hook up with www.thetirerack for fresh rubber at wholesale prices. Good Luck & Enjoy the ride!

Advice requested

Talking to someone about buying used 18's OEM 7 spoke with tires that have pretty long tread life left. The rims themselves need to be repainted. Not bent, condition is decent.

Can someone give me a ball park price? Im not too experience and don't want to get ripped off.

The wheels themselves are worth next to nothing, maybe 150-200. Really you are only paying for the tires, so it just depends on the brand and tread left. With good tires, they would be worth 600-800.

In the first page of our Private Classified adds are two sets of OEM forged 19" Rays for sale, that's an upgrade and you'll love how they look! My opinion the 18" OE wheels won't do much for your coupe!

Buy what you want that will make you happy not to make every one happy its not their money its yours you earn it. Just make sure check forums or websites for flaws and safety of the product.

What's your budget? If you're looking to buy cheap than I would also recommend going with the 19" OEM Rays.
