need help with radio and a/c

i have a 2006 g35 coupe. recently something went wrong when i hooked up some subs. The lights on my dash dont turn on, the radio doesnt play (but i can eject cds) eject button is the only one that works, and i cannot control my a/c. i checked all the fuses and theyre all good, bought and replaced the radio (same stock one) but did not fix the problem. any idea whats wrong?

Did you try disconnecting the subs to see what happens? If you cut and spliced wires, you might have wired something wrong. Consider returning the wiring to original configuration to see if the problem goes away.

You would need a Volt/Ohm meter (Multi-meter) and the wiring diagrams. This is a complex system and requires good troubleshooting skills, the ability to use a multi-meter, knowledge on how to read a wiring diagram and finally a lot of time. If you don't have these, your best bet is to take it in to a tech. You need to remember that either the loss of power or the loss of a ground to a system would render it inoperative, that's were the multi-meter comes in.

I assume you did use the wiring diagram when wiring the Subs, so I would ask that you tell us exactly which wires (all) did you tap into initially when you did the sub install? This information provides viewers with troubleshooting information. Exactly what fuses by number did you check and how did you check the fuses? Since we are not there to do the troubleshooting, the technique called "trust but verify" has to be used. It is important that you answer all technical questions when asked, otherwise we can't move to the next troubleshooting step, this could be a long process.

Have you tried controlling your audio from your steering wheel?

The new amp, was it actually new or used? If new, I doubt it was bad from stock, if used, then yes it could have been a bad unit.

When you installed the new amp, had you already removed the subs and returned the wiring to its original configuration? If you had not, then what ever caused the the problem initially, could have damaged the new unit as well.

Did you resolve this? I know its an old post but I'm having the same issue with 2006 G35 coupe. Can't find the R508, 509, 510 resistors on this model. Looks like the circuit board changed.
