Issues with code p0037

I recently threw a p0037 code which I took to my mechanic and he change the o2 sensor but it still comes back. I can clear it and drive for awhile then it throws a code again. The sensor is not form and could this be the problem or something else , all the wiring checks out ok. Looking for ideas before I take it to the dealership.

Thanks

P0037 is sensor #2 (the rear one) bank 1 (right/passenger's side) heater circuit low. Possible causes are: harness or connectors (the heated oxygen sensor 2 heater circuit is open or shorted), or heated oxygen sensor 2 heater.

Either replace the sensor, and/or double check wiring. The Rear O2 sensors connect to the bottom of the trans, so they're kind of exposed and can get damaged fairly easily if bottoming out of something or road debris. If you have an OBD2 dongle, you can use an app on your phone to monitor the heater circuit and verify if it's turning off/on like it should. Instructions are the FSM.

I had new sensor replaced but still throws code, I weird thing is once the code is cleared I can drive and code will not show up. Once I stop car and let it sit ,it will throw same code after a couple minutes. Any ideas why or should I go to the dealership because my mechanic can't figure it out.

Thanks

You're sure he's replacing the correct sensor and not one of the other 3 ?

Make sure the connector is clean and has the rubber seal to keep moisture out. If it's been replaced, then it sounds more like wiring.

Many codes take multiple trips before flagging the check engine light. So the light not coming on right away is normal.
