I have a question, I have a 06 g35 i started getting over heating problems, i changed my radiator and my thermostat. my mechanic said it was a head gasket problem. one day i was driving home my check engine light came on and my car started smoking from the back then after i drove for a little it would stop so i parked it up in my back yard, today i jacked it up drained my oil and it was dark as if it need changing , it didint seem to have any coolant in it so am i still looking at a head gasket problem here or was it that i needed a oil change ? my heater blows out cold air still.

 

I changed my Radiator and my Thermostat on my g35 recently and my car is still shooting right up to hot. I drove down my block and it started smoking like crazy it was visible it was coming from my exhaust and my hood i drove for a like 5-10 more mins and it stopped smoking from the exhaust only from the hood my coolant reserv was bubbling.My mechanic said it could be a head gasket, I jacked her up today i drained my radiator and i drained my oil, theres no oil in my antifreeze/coolant and theres not coolant in my oil. Am i still looking at a head gasket problem, or water pump or i have to bleed her again? Also when i checked under the car i seen that there was a little puddle of coolant and more down towards my passenger side there was a next puddle, i wasn't sure if that was the problem but I'm starting to look at that as an option thinking its a hose, my check engine light is on and my battery is dying quicker also and i just replaced in October. what kind of luck for the Holidays

 

I'd definitely look for a leak if you're seeing a puddle...maybe even the water pump.

 

Do the fans turn on?

 

yeah they turn on, nut now im really starting to think its a hed gasket when i drive it would'nt smoke, when i stop it starts smoking and also when i start it not that much smoke comes out well not alot really, only when im driving it rises up to hot and starts smoking.
