Last, Final Questions before PURCHASE!

thats right, im talking to dealers for a brand new 2005 G35 Coupe MT with everything but navi =( unless a dealer would seriously give me a break..

so far its been going slow.. man these sales guys are guled the the price tag or something.. anyways some questions..

When you guys got your coupe did the dealer have the front license plate casing already bolted on the car? how is it attached? i'm assuming two screws in to the bumper , i'm going to ask my dealer to keep that off but i'm just wondering =)

I know most of you guys got your coupes around 8-10miles on them. To my understanding they do conduct a road test before selling it? but to some of you guys with +15miles from the dealer: did you get a discount?

What is the difference between the "Areo Package" and the "Areodynamic Package w/Spoiler"? also what does the navi tell you aside from directions to point A and point B?

2005s have a LSD? questions completely off topic but just thought i'd throw it in there..

But most importantly.. any funny things the infiniti dealers do? example chevy refused to let me leave with out a car wash before i go lol.. they even gave me a year of free wash and wax at the dealer just to let me wash it.. iono

side note: HOW DO I GET THESE #$(%ers TO BUDGE?! they want $38,700 out the door for a GMT Coupe w/everything but navi.. thats pretty close to MSRP.. these guys wont move lol so far i've only made phone calls.. its pooring like crazy and also there was a news cast about bit storm hitting irvine so i havnt gone to a dealer yet

you can get a front license plate holder without screwing the bumper but it's aftermarket and pretty expensive. some guys will tell u where u can get that. i don't remember.

never heard of discount for 15 miles.

aero is just installed underneath the car (can't see them), aerodynamic has the front lip, mud guards, and spoiler on the trunk.

all MT's have LSD.

it's difficult to make a good deal with the MT's right now since they are 1 our of every 12 autos (correct me if i'm wrong).

Wow!

I am totally amazed at the prices dealers are charging for these cars.

My wife and I have purchased a 05 Coupe and a 05 Sedan in the last 30 days for only $300 over invoice! If you are a Sam's Club or Costco member and work through the Fleet Sales Department at Pinnacle Infiniti in Scottsdale AZ. they will sell you ANY 2005 Infiniti model for $300 over invoice.

Just call the Fleet Sales Manager Mitchell Eason at Pinnacle Infiniti at (480) 991-4100 and tell him the Pope's sent you. Mitch will bust his butt to get you the car you want. In my 25 years of car ownership this guy provided us with the best car buying experience ever.

Good Luck!

buing an AT vs a MT is a different game. the MT, they will stick to their guns due to the limited production spoken of earlier in this topic.

Aerodynamic Body Kit

• Front Bumper Chin Spoiler
• Aero body splash guards

Aero Package

• Rear spoiler.
• Rear side air diffusers.

Aerodynamic Body Kit (With Spoiler)

• Accessory Rear Spoiler
• 2 Under Body Diffusers
• 2 Under Covers
• Front Bumper Chin Spoiler
• Aero body splash guards

You can get a deal though. dont settle for hundreds off MSRP.

For those new buyers interested in the aero stuff, if you want the whole smash with the front chin spoiler the best way to go if you can, is to get the aero package and the aero kit (without spoiler). The aero package is factory installed. If you get the aero kit (with spoiler) everything is port installed and you will wind up with an extra third brake light in the rear window. It can be removed from the rear window, but you shouldn't have to deal with that. The factory installed rear spoilers have the best "quality of install".

To answer your questions about the front plate and the bumper, the answer depends on which state your dealer is located in...I'm from PA and in our wonderful state we don't need a front liscense plate...However, I bought my G in NJ which requires front plates...I unfortunately never mentioned it to the dealership until after I picked her up and got home, my buddy was like "lets take off that front plate"...I flipped, I knew there would be holes in the front bumper...Sure enough, there were very large holes in the bumper...I called up my dealership "Ray Catena" explained that they knew I was from PA and told them they should not have installed the front bracket holder...They apologized and promised to do a bumper swap for me as soon as they recieved another IP coupe....It took about a month but they called me up, and brought me in for a quick, and smooth service...All at no charge, now thats service...Anyways just mention it to them before you order, or before you pick her up...They can easily swap bumpers for you...G'luck

why would you get that 3rd brake light if everything is port installed? i think if its dealer installed then you might get it. mine was port installed everything and no 3rd brake light. or probably i misunderstood you. oh well, i used to memorize all those options when i was shopping back then, but now i think im confused again w/ all those aero packages!

AZ is a state away.. i dont want to drive THAT far for a car but the deal sounds great and i'll keep it in mind but i'm going to try to work with the dealers around my area first.

so get BOTH aero package AND aero kit? i havnt seen any cars with aero package AND the aero kit, is the areo package installed at the dealer? so i'll look for a aero packaged car and ask for the aero kit or the other way around? or are they both installed at the dealer

thanks everyone for the quick replys you night/early morning people... i'm going to try to get dealers going against dealers on the price...

You'll have to ask them. Each dealer is different. In Florida, we don't even have front license plates. I would ask them not to put one one. If you state requires one, I would go and get an adapter that can mount the plate into the tow hook so your not drilling into your bumper. See pics.

No, the dealer is not required to conduct a road test. Nissan conducts a very short road test from the factory floor, around a track, then to the factory parking lot, but that's about it. Don't expect a discount for extra miles. I knew of a 04 Laser Red G35C with 930 miles (test driving car) and they only dropped $500 off msrp.

In VA, we're required to have front license plates, so they drill the bumpers and install the license plate holders immediately. However, Rosenthal did include a color matched bracket (about the size of a playing card) that can be used to cover up the hole and sort of blend in with the bumper if you move to a state that doesn't require a front plate. Better than nothing I suppose.

If one is going to order a car, this statement is not consistent with either my recent car ordering experience nor does the logic seem correct.

Unless you believe that somehow Infiniti is not going to keep up with the production demand for the MT's, than there should be no justification for a higher price for an MT vs. an AT. If you are talking about buying a car off the lot (or nearby lot) than the current relative scarcity of the MT's may come into play.

We ordered a CPE 6MT nearly a month ago and the price was the same as if we had ordered an AT - $500 over Invoice. Some others in this area have received similar prices. Of course this is in the Washington, DC, area, but in that the Destination charge is the same in CA as in the East, this should not be an issue in price... perhaps in delivery date.

Best of luck in finding that car you want!.

I think it's pretty hard to get a great deal on 6MTs in Cali, and specially in the So Cal/LA area. Though i've read posts of people getting it pretty far under MSRP, but it seems like for the most part it's tough to get the dealers to budge on the price. I don't know how you get those suckers to budge, if I knew how I definitely would have gotten a better price on my '04.

I live in Nor Cal and the dealer up here asked if I wanted them to drill the two holes for me and I declined. I had to sign a waiver though, so they don't get in trouble if I get pulled over or something. *knock on wood*

And I have never heard/read anything about getting discounts for excessive mileage. I think if it's anything under 500 miles it's still legally considered "new," so you won't be getting any discounts and definitely when it's still only around 15.

Viral,

That "playing card" ships with the car from Japan. Many dealers place it in the Glove Box for possible future use after installing the license plate bracket.

I've seen a few G's that came with the aero kit (with spoiler) and they had the extra third brake light in the window. Maybe some of the dealers are taking them out before the sale, and some other dealers are too lazy to do it.
