Headlight Issue

Soo it rained heavy a couple days ago and i couldnt really see where i was going .. Yes i know i shouldnt have been driving my baby lol but i drove through a enourmus puddle and soon realized the road ahead got alot darker then befor . So i drove home and next morning i checkef my headlights and my passenger side dont work at all. I found bulb fragments in the headlight as if the bulb exploded when the water touched it but my blinker works tho lol . I replaced bulbs and checked fuses and nothing . So i took it to the dealer to get diagnostic done and they told me my ballast blew and tried charging me $1005.63 .. Lol . Is this somthing i can DIY if i get a new ballast or no ?

Yes, you should be able to do it.

The cheapest route would be for you to buy one second-hand (like an auto salvage yard). You will have to remove part of the bumper or the splash/mud shield for you to access the bottom headlight.

i usually like to take the bumper completely off and take the headlight housing off my car. its a lot easier. trying to do it while its on your car is a pain cause it a tight fit.

No do not get one from a store and I doubt they will have one at all, if they do you will way over pay. Best to check ebay from a new or used one, or on here.

I would upgrade to 06+ projector headlights. They use the same ballast as your current headlights.
For the time being, I suggest you buy a new ballast off Ebay or the forums. Simple swap, plug n play.

I'm pretty sure it's the same ballast. I just ordered some headlights for my 05 coupe. CCFL halo all black ones, gonna get them installed today!
