Water in trunk?

Bought the G from my brother last year. It sat in his year for a while without it being driven. When I first bought it and did a thorough cleaning I noticed there was some water in the same area. I didn't think much of it except that maybe there was some leaves blocking the trunk jam and spilling over. After I cleaned the leaves out and dried out the area it seemed to be OK for while. Today, I had it out and was in the trunk and I noticed that water is collecting there again. WTF.

Anyone else have this issue? Is it maybe a bad seal under the trunk where the tail lights are? Sunroof drain spouts?

Thanks

Is this in the spare wheel well?
I had water there the last couple times I checked and just removed the rubber bung from the floor till I get some time to investigate.
There was loads of leaves though - that are now cleaned out - but I was also wondering where the sunroof drains too?

My sedan does this as well. Used to fill the spare tire well with 1" of water.

Never really found the source of the leak, and simply removed some of the rubber plugs at the bottom of the well and never found standing water there every again.

Thats about what mine is doing. I will have to remove the plug until/if I find the source

You sure it's not condensation building up inside your rear window and dripping down the seat and into the trunk? Over time this could accumulate to build up a decent amount.

I've noticed i get a lot of water drip marks on my rear seat when I drive in humid weather without the A/C on. It does it when it's not raining out, so I think it's just the humid air condensing on the windows an dripping.

Well not sure if it is applicable to the g35, but when i had my RSX-s the seals around the rear tail lights dry out and crack. when they crack they let water in when raining or washing your car.
