new here

Hi Guys,
I will be getting a g35 coupe in a few weeks and was wondering, what the hottest colors are, i like the black and Diamond Graphite. BTW, I see different rims on the G35's, is there a different rim option that comes with different packages?

Like for example, I don't really like the rims on the g35 thats in the header of this forum..

Does anyone have pics of the 5 spoke rims from the
Sport-tuned Suspension Package?

Thanks a bunch this looks like a great community.

Player,

I don't have the info you need at hand, but I would like to welcome you to our community and wish you good luck with the new ride.

I have a Diamond Graphite/Silverstone Coupe which is a comparatively low maintenance colour, but all the ride's colours have their avid devotees.

Colin

The G in the header has the 5 double spoke 19" (standard on 6MT and 5AT with the sport tuned suspension package). The other choices are the 7-spoke 18" (5AT with performance tire and wheel package) and 6-spoke 17" (5AT base model).

i'm a laser red fan, meself. please see below for each size of rim:

17" (6-spoke) - base model
18" (7-spoke) - sport package pre-2005
19" (on header of forum) - sport package 2005

the 18"ers are my car fyi

edit: the front of my car looks raised b/c there's junk in my trunk and it was sitting on my slanted driveway all afternoon. normally there is not that large of a gap between the tires & fender wells.

A note on colors

I am on my second G35 Coupe now, both being different colors. My first on was what they called desert platinum in '03. The call it seregetti sand now. It was a great color, I had no complaints with it. It did not show dirt unless it was really dirty. And when you cleaned it and waxed it, the car shinned like a new nickel...whatever. My new '05 coupe is similar to my old coupe. Fully loaded, but this time I went with diamond graphite more out of convience than choice. I thought I would be dissapointed with the color, but I have been pleasently surprised. Again it hides dirt well and shines really well. Then again all the colors shine well. As for the interior, i feel black is the only way to go because it looks best with silver console, and black leather is the easiest to keep clean.

As for other colors...I have come across other colored G35s, and Z's so I can speak for them because my friends have them. Red is an awesome color...I really like it. The thing with red is that it is better when it is new. Red is the first color to fade and does so faster more so than any other color for the most part. In short...red is hard to keep red.

Black - another sharp color. The thing with black is that it is hard to keep clean or at least keep that appearance. Also, rock chips, which can be common with these cars depending on where you live, show up really easily being that a rock chip will show up as white or silve. On a black car this is a stark contrast. My friend has hid his with a black sharpy -- nice quick fix. I have to say though black looks awesome with dark tinted windows.

As for the other colors I cannot say cause I do not know. I am sure the brilliant silver will be similar to my first two colors. As for white, that is for chicks in my opinion. And if you get that new stone color you just wasted your color choice. Not sure about the blue --- wish they still had the midnight blue color. That was nice --

Hope this helps

One more thing -- the new rims for the '05 are awesome. 19 inches of forged alloy is the way to go. Plus the look awesome. Wish they kept the brembos but apparantly infiniti improved there stock brake system so that it performs as well as the brembos -- that is what they say at least....

The new 19's definitely look better in person than they do in pictures.

Athens Blue is the best '05 color. Black looks great but is a royal PITA to keep clean and scratches show easily with the light colored base coat underneath. Red draws the eyes of the law too easily. Diamond Graphite is nice but too common. IP is an excellent choice also and it stays cool in the summer sun. LS is not bold enough. Serengeti Sand is a nice alternative if you want something unique.

Yes it did, that's why you see Diamond Graphite Gs everywhere. Nice color but everyone and their mom has it.
