2004 AT with increasing oil consumption (115k miles)
I've had my coupe for about 7 years now. Over the last 8 months, I've noticed increased oil consumption. I've never had issues before, but now it seems that the car consumes about 1 quart per 1k miles. I don't see any obvious leaks. Spark plugs were changed around 80k, as was the lower oil pan for a leak a few years ago. Any thoughts on what's going on? Only thing I could come up with was a clogged PCV valve due to age.

So pull the PCV valve and clean it by putting carb cleaner inside, with thumb/finger on either end shake it rapidly, now wipe if off and install! Never any reason to replace these valves when they can be cleaned in 10 minutes! Keep your oil topped off, check it every other day. PCV valve may not have been the cause but you eliminated one of the possibilities...gotta try!

I found mine did the same after it hit 100K miles. Oil consumption was about 1 qt per 1000 miles. In the end, I determined it was probably valve seals/rings as I'd notice if I let the car sit 2-3 days without being started, it would start up with a big blue puff of smoke.
I just started keeping quarts of oil in the trunk and checking it every 500 miles or so. Made it to 172K miles before another failure pretty much made me call it quits on the car
