urgent: removed radio and now it beeps but does not function

I removed the radio unit from my car
Upon putting it back in and connecting the harnesses and turning the key, i hear a single long beep (~2 second). The radio will not power on and the LCD displays nothing

Does anyone know whats wrong??

Is this something related to security of some sort??

take out the radio again. Chances are you did not connect the thin ribbon wire at the bottom of the circuit board. It's a white ribbon with a metalic connector at the end, goes into a black plastic harness in the circuit board.
