Daytime Running Lights, Window Actuator, Remote

Hi,
Another question from me, this time in regards to the Daytime Running Lights, one regarding the windows and the final one on the remote open/close.

1. My DRL apparently only seem to come on in the night? Is that correct? I haven't tested this theory fully yet as I haven't really driven the car at night since I purchased it 2 weeks ago. But I notice that whenever I worked on the reverse camera, I found that every time I turned on the car with the lights in AUTO position, the DRL came on. But in the day they have never come on. If I put them in full position it works perfect. Any ideas, assuming this is not how they should work?

2. The feature where the window comes down slightly when you open and then pops back up to regular height when you close the door. Is there a known issue where this will stop working like the door actuators? I'm not sure what controls it so didn't know how to search.

3. My current remote does not work. THe door actuators do need to change but I would think that by pressing open and close you would at least hear the attempt, similar to when I try to open and lock the doors with the Open/Lock button on the arm rest. Two questions, how can I test what the issue is (I've changed the battery already) and secondly if I bought a replacement remote from Amazon could that fix the issue? I know I probably can't tell unless I try, butI'm trying to determine if I should take time to see why the factory remote isn't working or just buy the replacement and troulbleshoot from there.

I just found this on Amazon, would it make more sense to purchase this kit?
https://www.amazon.com/Docooler-Cent...EFY0GQJ635JJAN

It's sold together with the door actuators.

Update, in regards to the day time running lights. I've confirmed that for whatever reason they only come on in the night. I started my car around 630 last night and the lights came on. I started again around 9 and they came on. Coming back from the store around 930, they came on perfectly. THe car was in AUTO from in the morning yesterday. Nothing at all during the day.

Started the car this morning, nothing........

Not a huge deal, more interested as to why

The auto setting works of a light sensor.. lights will only come on when is dark outside or you drive into or under an inclosure... take a look at your owners manual...

Jonlex99 - Thanks. I'm in the Cayman Islands and the car is a 2003 direct from Japan. I'm at the minimum the 3rd owner so no manual, plus it would probably be in Japanese.

My next question is, where is the sensor? Is it possible to either wire or disable the feature so that it always thinks it's dark? It's the least of my "concerns" so it's no biggie.

Any insight on my other questions regarding the window and if I can just get that part from amazon so that I can get the doors to open via remote?
