They did some shake tests, checked the fuse boxes, basic wiring, all is fine and the shake test didn't repeat the issue.

The battery was tested, alternator, all good. Battery is a year old. All ground connections are good (I have multiple).

They pulled 0 codes from the computer, nothing. I asked if theres a common issue with the Infinities/Nissans and they said based on their experience, there's no common problems with them. Every car they ever worked on had a different odd issue related to wiring. They said it's definitely an electrical issue based on the symptoms, but it's impossible to check every wire in the car.

Basically, the issue can't be found and I'm pissed off now. I have to deal with this **** that almost kills me every 2-3 days on the highway. Unless someone has any final suggestions?
What you need to do is take your vehicle to the nearest Infiniti dealer, meet with the service manager and explain your problem.
Request a loaner vehicle and have the service manager assign your vehicle to their most experienced and highly trained tech. Have the tech attach his Consult lll and drive it home and back until the problem occurs.
They will find the root cause of your problem.

Your so called mechanic may not be properly trained for your vehicle.

Just my $.02

Sometimes the issue wont happen for a week, and then it suddenly happens twice in a single day. At one point, it didn't do it for 2-3 weeks and I thought it went away and long behold, it started out of no where again. It's very sporadic and intermittent. This is a mystery.

Would the Camshaft Position Sensor?? do the same thing on the highway they have two sides Bank 1 and Bank 2. I know i was going like 40 when my car shut off sporadically and turned back on by itself somehow. And a second time i actually had to pull over to start it again. Changed it a couple months ago and no issues since then,

I brought this up with the mechanic and the electrician and they said if the crank shaft sensor was acting up, it would throw a code. Did you have any codes? Did you swap both sensors?

Thanks!

You I gnored telcoman again. If it's really coming down to where your local mechanics have no clue. Why not take it to the guys who are actually trained for our brand and have the experience. Better then trying or guessing different things and wasting time. Sometimes going to the dealer is the best

ddzc if you don't take your car to the dealer and keep exhibiting the classic definition of insanity (repeating the same thing over and over yielding the same results) I might have to close this thread lol. Seriously, quit d!cking around and do the right thing, might be a little more $$$, but here we are 3 weeks after you started this thread and nothing's been accomplished.

lol, the dealer was my last resort, just wanted to go through the forums and the mechanics/electricians beforehand. I'm worried about bending it over from the dealer and getting a bill issued worth 2x the value of the car. Will keep the post updated.

Taking your vehicle to an authorized Infiniti dealer and authorizing a one hour inspection is less than $200.00 depending on your location. No dealer is going to perform any work 2x the value of your vehicle without your authorization and signature. The symptom you are describing is indicative of a possible flooded or water damaged vehicle. Are you holding back or not providing complete information? There was a recent post where the owner washed the engine of his vehicle and shortly after began having problems.

http://www.consumerreports.org/used-...of-flood-cars/

Not only are vehicles from hurricane Sandy still floating around (pardon the pun) but many more thousands from recent floods this past year.
Your vehicle is not only dangerous to you but dangerous to others on the road.
Perhaps its just time for you to go find another vehicle?

Had same problem around 80k and this was the solution. Use CRC MAF cleaner or something similar on the MAF and take care when manually cleaning the TB. My G now has 214k without any random shutdowns since although I still keep up on random interval cleanings...

Another thing would be to sand your battery connectors of oxidation (if present) and use some contact grease on the terminals.

Get a new battery if you dont want to clean a couple things first to see if things change. Yes, you run the risk of damaging them, I have done it multiple times with no issue, up to you.

Talking Cam Shaft Position Sensor

Can almost guarantee it will be the Cam Shaft Position Sensor's as mine did the exact same thing, rolling at 60mph engine just turned off with lights on but started up one dropping the clutch then on I went... Always happened around the same area during my usual drive as well.

Also since the Cam Shaft Position Sensor issue/s are common I would suggest doing that.

Hello all. New to the site! Just bough an 04 G35X sedan about 2 weeks ago. My mother has an 06 fx35. We had the same issue with hers but the truck wouldn’t shut off. Just hard stutters when accelerating. Took it to the family mechanic and he swapped the cam sensor bank 1. I however am having the shut off issue and a hard crank as well. I did also get a code for the cam sensor. I plan on tackling that soon and see if it resolves it.
