Engine shuts down while driving
Some updates...my mechanic has no idea so he referred me to an automotive electrician.
I brought the car in today...after an hour of diagnosing, they couldn't find the issue. Because the issue is intermittent and I brought the car in while it was working fine, it's like a needle in a haystack.
They did some shake tests, checked the fuse boxes, basic wiring, all is fine and the shake test didn't repeat the issue.
The battery was tested, alternator, all good. Battery is a year old. All ground connections are good (I have multiple).
They pulled 0 codes from the computer, nothing. I asked if theres a common issue with the Infinities/Nissans and they said based on their experience, there's no common problems with them. Every car they ever worked on had a different odd issue related to wiring. They said it's definitely an electrical issue based on the symptoms, but it's impossible to check every wire in the car.
Basically, the issue can't be found and I'm pissed off now. I have to deal with this **** that almost kills me every 2-3 days on the highway. Unless someone has any final suggestions?

Request a loaner vehicle and have the service manager assign your vehicle to their most experienced and highly trained tech. Have the tech attach his Consult lll and drive it home and back until the problem occurs.
They will find the root cause of your problem.
Your so called mechanic may not be properly trained for your vehicle.

What you need to do is take your vehicle to the nearest Infiniti dealer, meet with the service manager and explain your problem.

Would the Camshaft Position Sensor?? do the same thing on the highway they have two sides Bank 1 and Bank 2. I know i was going like 40 when my car shut off sporadically and turned back on by itself somehow. And a second time i actually had to pull over to start it again. Changed it a couple months ago and no issues since then,

You I gnored telcoman again. If it's really coming down to where your local mechanics have no clue. Why not take it to the guys who are actually trained for our brand and have the experience. Better then trying or guessing different things and wasting time. Sometimes going to the dealer is the best

ddzc if you don't take your car to the dealer and keep exhibiting the classic definition of insanity (repeating the same thing over and over yielding the same results) I might have to close this thread lol. Seriously, quit d!cking around and do the right thing, might be a little more $$$, but here we are 3 weeks after you started this thread and nothing's been accomplished.

Not only are vehicles from hurricane Sandy still floating around (pardon the pun) but many more thousands from recent floods this past year.
Your vehicle is not only dangerous to you but dangerous to others on the road.
Perhaps its just time for you to go find another vehicle?

If he messes both of those up, fails to find the problem and then finally goes to a dealer all he did was add to his cost.

Another thing would be to sand your battery connectors of oxidation (if present) and use some contact grease on the terminals.
Get a new battery if you dont want to clean a couple things first to see if things change. Yes, you run the risk of damaging them, I have done it multiple times with no issue, up to you.
Can almost guarantee it will be the Cam Shaft Position Sensor's as mine did the exact same thing, rolling at 60mph engine just turned off with lights on but started up one dropping the clutch then on I went... Always happened around the same area during my usual drive as well.
Also since the Cam Shaft Position Sensor issue/s are common I would suggest doing that.
