ABS,Slip,Vdc...abs pump running

So monday didn't start out great. Made it just down the street when the abs system did its self check or whatever that quick whirring spring noise is around 10mph every morning. Except this time the noise stayed on and wouldn't go off. The abs motor stayed running with the car off. VDC,SLIp,ABS lights all came on. I said screw it, parked the car and hitched a ride to work. Had to disconnect battery so abs motor wouldn't burn up. Pulled the codes when I got home and came up with c1111(ABS MOTOR) and abnormal battery voltage code. Called my mechanic and told him I'm on my way. When I drove off going to my mechanic, the abs motor was still runing but did it's test around 10mph again and shut off! Went home and cleared the codes to find out the problem was gone. No more lights on. I'm wondering if something is towards the end of its time.
Anyone ever heard of this? Hoping it's just a one time thing. Some insight: Saturday night I was listenig to music with the car off for around 20 min powering two amplifisers, one for subs and one for speakers. Sunday I didn't drive the car at all. Could it be possible the battery was so low after starting the car monday morning and didn't have enough power to complete the abs self check? Before anyone says it, I READ THE SERVICE MANUAL. The code mentioned something about a relay being stuck open and a possible bad ground connection. Any info would be appreciated.

I'd try testing the relays and going through all of your grounds since that's where the FSM pointed you to.

So it happened again the other day. Restart car, drive away and abs pump turns off and clear the codes when I got home. I'm leaning towards a faulty relay. Before I buy the most expensive relay ever($170), can someone tell me if relays can fail intermittently like I'm experiencing?

I am parting out an 03 G coupe and would give the relay for very cheap if interested.

Yep thats a classic symptoms of a failing relay, it has a physically moving part inside it (contact switch) that eventually wears out, sometimes they fail to close, sometimes fail to open, sometimes they just explode on the inside.

All a contact is is a switch similar to a light switch in your house that is actuated by an electromagnet. Imagine a light switch that you have to hold on and will spring back open if you let go, an electromagnet is what holds it closed.

They can also be opened, the plastic cover over it comes off and you can visually inspect for broken components, just be aware the return spring will shoot out like a jack-in-the-box.
