MREV2 Troubles

Anyone else have bolts snap in half on them while installing this mod? I used a torque wrench with the correct settings but i've still had 5 or 6 bolts snap on me. I'm thinking maybe the bolts are just very old but it's odd that this many have snapped.

Something's wrong because this almost never happens. Maybe one if you over tighten it but not multiples. IIRC the install calls for in/lbs. not ft/lbs. Did you torque them with the wrong kind of torque wrench perhaps?

Figured out they were just really old bolts. Got the parts on and cars running smooth

OK cool, how did you remove the broken parts of the bolts?

Got a pair of pliers and twisted it out. Luckily it wasn't too far in there so no drilling was required.

This happened to me as well, got a pair of locking pliers and I was able to remove a snapped bolt.

The worst was when I dropped a nut inside one of the 6 cylinder holes, man that was the end of the world for me. Took me few minutes to gather myself from being frustrated and come up with the idea of using a magnet stick that bends to recover the nut. Luckily it didn't go all the way down the engine. LOL
