I want my dash camera to run even when my car is off. I know some cars have this feature. Can we install it on these cars or will it pull too much power from the battery?

 

hard wire it to the fuse box. Test each switch and stick with the one that always supplies power. Same can be done to make it turn on and off with the car.

 

You could hard-wire a cable to your battery with an in-line fuse. Make sure you use a fuse with the appropriate amp rating for your wire gauge and insulation or you could run the risk of starting an electrical fire.

They actually make hard-wire kits for that with a built-in fuse that you can buy right on Amazon that have the appropriate USB connector on the other end.
