Make room for the new kid on the block...
The specs on the IS300, other than the palty 245HP figure, look very appealing. But as someone already asked, where's the coupe? Sporty, coupe-specific sheetmetal and at least 300HP (NA, gasoline 6cyl.) would be musts for me to consider it a good option.
As a direct competitor to the G35 sedan, it's a striking alternative... ...again, with the exception of the relatively low output.

It's pretty sad to see the new IS is trying to look like the Germans, which it isn't. I much prefer the look of IS300 than this one. However, the interier looks much better than the IS300, and I expect the new IS comes with a cool Nav system and other gadgets. btw, the steering wheel is a bit ugly, for some reasons...
the front bumper looks like the E90 bimmers, and the head lights look like 05 RSX. The rear looks very strange. The side looks like a TSX...Most important of all, it doesnt feel like an IS anymore. I just dont understand the design of the whole car yet.
I hope this car looks much better in real person, or in black or other colors.
Anyhow, I'm also glad that I didn't wait for this new IS, and got my 05 sedan with sport pack and premium for 32.5K...
P.S. the E90 looks cool now

To all the questions.....
Come on guys...like someone already said before...this is the sedan...so let's not compare it to the G-coupe...i mean in terms of style and power, the Lexus would not match up!
But!!! There would be a coupe version later along the line, like around next year, as well as a convertible (all this would help it better compete with the BMW 3 series)....When it comes to the end of the day,Toyota/Lexus just like Nissan/Infiniti has to sell cars and gain a share of the market. The IS250 might only have 201hp (as the press release says), but that is to ensure that traditional buyers of the BMW 325i would consider a Lexus instead, especially in the European market.
Lexus knew the primary concern with owners of the original IS300 was power. For that reason, expect an IS350!! Also, the two versions we have seen so far are almost primarily for the European market...They are eagerly trying to make a profit in that market. The US version would be shown at the NY Auto Show on March 26th...
...So lets all just wait and be patient...I honestly cannot wait for when the coupe version come out...it'll be a three way battle (3series coupe, G35coupe, IS350coupe)....hmmm, must be nice

I think it looks good.......
And to all the people who say it looks like a Scion TC...first off the scion tc to me looks like a BMW, so the lexus resembles a BMW, which is not bad. Second, the scion TC is a step up from looking like a Toyota Corolla, which is what the IS300 is based off of.
Finally, of course the IS250 would have less hp
IS300>IS250 .....
IS350>IS300......hmm....more hp!

looks like a scion tc with 4 doors and on steroids.
Ps: I posted without knowing people do think it looks like a tC, Toyota runs Scion, so i am not surprised the overall shape looks the same. Also there is a reason why tC looks like a BMW, because the headlight is made by BMW which resembles the 5 series.
