Buying a ten year old vehicle is a crap-shoot. Do your due diligence and have the vehicle thoroughly inspected preferably by a local Infiniti dealer and have them run the VIN number for you. Is there a dealer service history?
Was this vehicle purchased in your state or could it have a washed title and possibly have been involved in a flood/accident?

Good luck

I know this may be slim. But I just watched a documentary about Hurricane Sandy vehicles are still on the roads with CLEAN titles after they have been flooded out..I would run that VIN just in case.

About all you can do is test it and take it in to get inspected.

I just picked one up same year and low mileage and it turned out to be a jem.

How much you picking it up for?

If you're getting an 07 6mt, it's not a regular DE, it's a revup motor in which case there's a high likelihood of a fair amount of oil consumption. Check out the tailpipes; if they're heavily layered with black soot, it probably eats a lot of oil, if they're just lightly rusted you should be good. If it's kind of in-between, you may wanna take it for a compression test just to see where it's at for reference.

Also, the compression rod bushings (even tho they were revised in 05) are most likely shot. Check the insides of the front tires for excessive wear.

If it's a Bose stereo, it's very likely that the driver's side speakers don't work when playing CDs.

Make sure you test all windows, sun roof, power locks/key fob for functionality. These cars are kind of pieces of ****. Lol

Price is a little high, if the car checks out I'd offer $9000 and go from there.

You sure that's a high price for a 10 yr old vehicle with only ~50k miles? Seems about right to me for this time of year.

Price seems to vary on these significantly. Depending on where you live. The sedans seem to go for less than the coupes and there seems to be a premium on the 6mt since there are less of them. Near the DC area from a dealer you aren't seeing prices under 10k for semi decent 75k mile examples of 6mt coupes and that's before their crap processing and dealer fees and the like.

I paid 12k for mine. But when I took it to get inspected at infinity before I bought it the mechanic came out and said that this thing checks out as good as a new car. I thought it was well worth 12k for such a good vehicle. Mine had 40k miles.
