Rims under 1k quick

So while I am waiting to be refunded for my last wheels I need to get something on fast (tires are to the metal fibers). I found these POS's locally for 400 with tires. 5.5 inch rear lip/4 front.

Once I get refunded I can use these as my beater set alongside my rays.

Anyone have any input on these?

I did a quick photshop on my ride.

If you just need quick temporary wheels why don't you just pick up a set of 18'' stockers to use? Or if you can find a good deal on some 19'' Rays that's even better... Then you can also use them as 'beaters' and they're still an improvement over these...

I know there was a following for the XXR rims a while back and I'm personally not a fan of this style.. But regardless of style, the offset of these are horrible (assuming those are the actual ones on the white G).

And to add, tires are a lot less expensive for 18'' stocks if you're just planning on using them as a beater...

I don't know what the offs are on the white on but the ones for sale are some really agressive offsets. I think +10 rear and +13 front, I'll have to check.

I can't find cheap tires for the rays, I'm guessing because 19" is just not a popular size.

I would look into 18's but 400 for wheels and tires is pretty decent for the condition of the rims. I'm not sure I can get a deal like that with the right size rims anywhere else.

I have never had XXR's but have you known of any issues with them other than they are super cheap?

Aren't there any used tire places around your area? Im sure they would have some that would work on the cheap for temporary use until you get your new wheels.

Last time I went to Eduardo's tire shop to get used tires was for my Nissan titan. One blew after a week mounted.

I don't trust many shops as I think many of them just refurb old pieces of crap.

Damn that sucks to hear, I've got a guy here that gets dealership take offs. Usually have about 50-70% tread left....haven't had any issues with his when I need something to throw on quick.

XXRs are knockoff wheels like vossens. Basically the same thing. Nothing wrong with them per se, they're just cheaper knock-offs.

anyway, if you need cheap, good tires, look for Achilles ATR sport on eBay. Really good tire for the money. A whole set (275 rears and 265 fronts) cost me $440. They've got great treadwear and perform great considering the price. They're no PSS, but dollar for dollar they're quite exceptional.

I found some (Achilles) from an online seller super cheap. I will get some new rubber for my rays from them.

I have not had a set of Vossen before so I cannot speak for their quality but my last set for my Z (Volk TE) developed cracks on two of the wheels. I have never had such an issue with any wheels I have had. I know there are striking differences in the way the wheels are made and the quality of the QA process etc... But one of the most reputable wheel companies wheels are the only ones I have ever had issues with. So who knows.

But yes they do knock off most of their designs. And I do have to admit they knock of most of the ugliest wheels available lol I just love the DEEP dish on these.

Tried out the Achilles tires when I was a bit short on money. Those are some high quality tires for the price. Three times the cost for a similarly performing street tire? I think not Michelin.

anything can happen, but this is the one and only time I have ever heard of a Volk Rays TE forged wheel cracking.
