Thumbs up Lowering 1 inch with coilovers. Will I need a camber kit?

05 Coupe

Going to get some Tein coilovers, i might just keep it at stock height and enjoy the new suspension since the original shocks and struts are still on my G after 140k.

IF I want to lower the car at some point, I won't go below an inch. But in that case would I need a camber kit?

What are you worried about: Tire wear, over camber, handling issues etc...

....People have lowered much more than 1" without a kit. I am lowered pretty low and could have actually got my toe within specs on stock toe arms so it all depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Logic and beyond...

I can't imagine what your ride must feel like after 140K miles! I knew the minute my OE shocks were failing by how the ride felt on all my cars, it was long before 100K miles! Rather than wasting your $$ on less than quality coil overs why not install new shocks like Tein D Specs or KYB's? They will give you a great ride for as long as you own your G, then you'll have no concerns about excessive tire wear or camber kit b.s.!

Aren't the D specs about 200 dollars per corner? Kind if out of my price range at the moment.

Short and simple...no you shouldn't need a camber kit if you go down an inch. On my 08 sedan I was on swift springs before coilovers, I can't remember exactly how much of a drop, 1.5in? But anyways they were able to get my camber and toe pretty much back to spec.

Don't believe I spent that much, bought them from our Marketplace under vendor suspension. Put KYBs on my last Z, not expensive and loved the solid factory ride they offered...Gary

yes he will. Rear toe will not go into spec with ANY drop. At the very least you'll need toe bolts.

2: do you REALLY want to be riding around on a few inches of tire contact patch? Camber kit is not only a good idea for tire wear, it is safer, makes the ride MUCH more comfortable and it'll save you money in the long run.
