I put the invidia gemani catback on my 05 coupe AT about a month ago. I like the sound but don't love it. I feel it needs to sound a little more mean and maybe little rasp if that makes sense. It currently sounds very smooth like a hum. I want a little more death metal scream to it but just a little! The exhaust is the only mod I have done so far, so I guess my question is... is there something I can add to get a little more meanness out of the exhaust without buying a new exhaust? I got the exhaust at a really good price... Really don't want to touch the cats.... would an intake change the sound of the exhaust? Remove one of 2 resonators? Sounds very stupid I'm sure... idk boys help me out here. I searched for this couldn't find ****... thanks

 

There is no other way than changing your cats and adding CAI if you want the sound you are asking. I have the same exhaust with HFC and I love it.

Go with MD art or hfc and call it the day. Make friends with your local smog stations..

 

Gmessina, you must realize that 80% of the restriction in your exhaust system is in the OE cats. You look at the openings and wonder how in the hell does anything get thru that restricted (almost) opening? High Flow Cats are the answer to your tone change and increased WHP! Find a pair on our Marketplace under Private Classified then exhaust. Fast Intentions are the best but other brands will work for you. Chopping up you Gemani exhaust isn't a great idea, shouldn't even be an idea! Intake won't change the sound of your exhaust but it never hurts to increase your intake volume by getting a quality drop in filter like AMSOIL!
