Good luck on the wait. UPS is by far the most idiot organization I've ever dealt with. I'm on the verge of not doing business with anyone who uses them as a carrier. They always seem to deliver at noon like I'm sitting at home on welfare. I work and I don't see the point of paying them for delivery if I have to pick it up myself. Whatever you do, make them deliver. When I ordered my rim, I wasn't about to drive to UPS to pick up 4 wheels and tires in my Coupe.

So you figure that packages should only be delivered between 6:00p and 7:00p?

Can't you have the wheels/tires delivered to the shop you're going to get them mounted at?

I know the response to that Q though...."I don't trust the shop. they're going to open them and scratch the wheels."

Not exactly, but allow customers to set up a delivery time after 1st attempt. UPS doesn't allow this, at least not in my area. They'll keep showing up at noon for 3 attempts, then you have to go pick it up in person. They don't deliver on weekends either.

That would be impossible. With 100 to 120 "delivery" customers everyday, those guys would be out all hours of the night. I'm sure they like to go home at the end of their day, just as you do.

They'll keep showing up at noon for 3 attempts
The reason he keeps showing up at noon is because the driver is on a schedule. He starts his DOL (delivery order listing) at his first delivery, then in sequence, sweeps across town without backtracking until he's finished. From 3 to 6pm, he is more than likely doing pickups outside of your area anyway. Noon everyday just tells me that he is keeping up with his schedule. He has time commits all day long.

All you have to do is sign the back of his notice to release your delivery. Or, leave him a note to leave it with a neighbor, or simply have the address changed to deliver to your company. Then "will call" as a last resort. If you know that you have something coming, just make arraingements if you know that you won't be home. But, he's not going to sit out in front of your house until you get home. That's just too funny. Easy stuff.

That's just plain silly. Did you actually read my post? I'm complaining because they don't allow you to reshedule a delivery when you're home. I don't expect to wait outside my house. Sorry, but you don't know everything you need to know. On the front of the "info notice", if the "signature required" box is checked, there is no option for leaving the package in front. Duh! I would've done this from the start. My neighbors work too. To address your other issues, Maybe they should go to shift work. Maybe there should be some difference between business and residence shipping. How can run a shipping company and expect to be successful with bank hours? This would allow them to keep their schedule during the day and also satisfy evening deliveries. How hard would that be? Is it about them or about the customer? How about a business re-engineering? With internet sales, booming, they need to change the way they deliver stuff. No wonder FEDEX has dominated the shipping industry despite being founded in 1971. UPS has been around since 1920 and still can't get it right. Whenever I use FEDEX, they allow me to reshedule a delivery when I'm home. You may not mind paying for shipping and having to picking it up yourself, but I do. I didn't like the fact that I would have to fit 4 wheels and tires in my coupe. So I took off work to catch the UPS guy. Why is the financial burden on the customer, when you already paid for shipping? You pay for shipping and have to take off work to get it. That's not putting the customer first. Like I said, as a consumer I can avoid vendors that use UPS.

For the original poster: Did you get your stuff?

Ups

I am a UPS driver. Everything Mooser said in his post was correct. We have an order in which we deliver in and it stays the same from day to day. I personaly work till around 8 pm everynight. If I was to break off route to go to " Scheduled" deliverys during the day I would be out till 930 at night. Even if the signature required box is checked there are options. Most likely u can have the pkg addressed to your job or another address where someone will be home. You might even be able to work something out with the driver to come back later in the day. The reason Fedex can schedule deliverys is because they dont do nearly the amount of work that is heaped on us. We have a saying. UPS stands for Under Paid Slaves, because they work us like dogs.

Im with you on that one...I HATE UPS!! They NEVER seem to update the site for orders!! FEDEX all the way, as soon as its received at its warehouses the status auto updates on the website. FEDEX is the best!! Nice rim purchase! I wouldve bought the GTC's if I couldve got them for ~2800 but everywhere I looked they were 3k+
