Sirius Stock Sat Antenna

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have pics of what the stock antenna looks like (or where it is) on the new 2005 models? I am waiting for my 6MT to come in (May 5th), and got Sirius with it. What does it look like? Also, is there a difference between getting it done at the factory, and getting it put on at the dealer after it arrives?

Thanks in advance everyone!!

In reality I don't think any are done at the factory, but are done over here as "port installed" option...but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the reply! When the dealer sold me on it, he said it was cheaper to order it with the car, than have it put on at the dealer after the fact. If it isn't put on at the factory, then what's the advantadge?
and what is "port installed"?

Port installed means parts like the aero kit are installed at the processing facility at the port when the car arrives on the ship from Japan, before it is loaded onto a train or truck being shipped on its way to the dealer. For example, the aero package is factory installed and the two aero kit choices are port installed, or at last resort you could get those dealer installed.

one advantage to having it dealer installed is you dont have to have it on the top of the car. there is a smaller antenna that can be installed under the trunk of the car that gives it a stealth look.

Thats what I have ordered for mine.

HAVING INSTALLED UNDER THE HOOD INTERFERES WITH THE RECEPTION. REMEMBER, IT'S A SATELLITE RADIO. LINE OF SIGHT.

I wound up installing mine on the rear deck of the rear window. Works great with no dropouts and no black antenna on the roofline.

If you want to tint the rear window, it may cause you some reception problems.
